16. Gels for the reduction of relative permeability
28-06-08 - Taking in consideration the needs of our clients who operate fields with strong bottom and lateral aquifers, Lipesa Internacional has obtained the representation of DPR gels from the French Institute of Petroleum, for the Americas. The Gels with DPR effect (Disproportionate Permeability Reduction), demonstrate a selective reduction behavior to the permeability of water/gas without affecting the permeability of the Oil, which has made attractive their use in production areas to isolate unwanted Gas or Water. Colloidal gels or Microgels are available with a 3 cPoise average viscosity in brine formation solution, stable in temperatures up to 330 °F, in three diameters (0,3 µm; 1,0 µm; 2,0 µm).

15. V Venezuelan Forestry Congress
10-07-07 - The V Venezuelan Forestry Congress was held from May14th through May 18th in the Forestry installations of The Experimental University of Guayana in Upata, Bolivar State, in which Lipesa participated with an exposition of the product FIRESORB. A Demonstration of the FIRESORB Gel Fire-Fighting Additive, with the collaboration of the Forestal Firemen was conducted, in which dry wood protected with FIRESORB was ignited with Gasoline and set fire, and extinguished after a few minutes. The FIRESORB protected wood was undamaged, while the unprotected part was totally burnt.

14. Planting of 250.000 forest trees with HIDROGEL during the dry season
16-11-06 - LIPESA HIDROGEL is the solution for planting during the dry season. The use of Hydrogel in the planting holes supplies a water reserve for more than 60 days of continuous drought, that is, THE PLANT WILL CONTINUE TO GROW EVEN THOUGH THE SOIL IS DRY. Any rain during this period will recharge the HYDROGEL and provide an additional 60 days of water supply to the tree. Trees planted without the Hydrogel will dry out or their growth will be stumped.
More than 250.000 trees are being planted in Venezuela with HYDROGEL during October and November 2006 (beginning of the dry season), by Government Entities, “Mission Tree”, Private Companies and Environmental Organizations.

Reaction & Etoxilation Plant Construction
13. One more step toward technological independence
05-09-06 - LIPESA, S. A., a 100 % Venezuelan Capital Company, has purchased a land lot from Corimon in which a chemical reaction and etoxilation plant will be built. The facility is located in Santa Rita’s Industrial Zone, Zulia State, and it has been projected for producing demulsifier’s raw materials for the oil industry and surfactants for the drilling companies.
This new facility is a great step toward our technological independence in the chemical specialties for the oil industry and it will promote in a decisive way the creation and reinforcement of cooperatives along with the SPCs (Social Production’s Companies, these are companies with a positive social impact). It will allow the processing of basic products that are hard to get in the international markets due to the low offer and the required logistic involved during the importation.
The NAV (national add value) of our product’s basket will be increased in at least 20 % and will allow us to have an access to a market of US$ 160 millions, which at the present time is dealing with a high percentage of imported raw materials and products.

12. Rescue and preservation of transplanted large trees and shrubs
13-07-06 - LIPESA collaborates with ecological organizations of Lara State in the rescue and preservation of transplanted large trees and shrubs, which are located in the route of the massive transport project TRANSBARCA to save them from being cut down; with the donation of HYDROGEL for the transplant of 50 large trees and shrubs in June.
The HYDROGEL is useful in the protection, recuperation and development of the root system of the transplanted trees. LIPESA will continue giving support to this project, first of its kind in Venezuela.
